Scene Ⅰ: Saving an Orphan
The flames of war raged everywhere, enveloping the people in utter misery. Miao Xing, the abbot of Shaolin Temple, leads his men against the enemy in an attempt to bring peace to the community. While attempting to flee with her baby, a young woman is trapped by gangsters.

Scene Ⅱ: Learning Kungfu Skills
Time passes quickly as the baby grows up under the care of the monks. They give him the Buddhist name Hui Guang and Na Luo instructs him in the skills and lessons of Shaolin Kungfu. Hui Guang grows up to become a great Kungfu master.

Scene Ⅲ: Kungfu Skills
The monks sweat under a burning sun, practicing kungfu. They demonstrate kungfu skills everywhere in their daily life. Because of the hatred in HuiGuang’s heart and his yearning for his mother, he becomes intoxicated and makes trouble within the temple.

Scene Ⅳ: Encounter
On a busy street, a busk girl is molested by a group of local hooligans. Hui Guang’s mother comes to help the girl but also puts herself in danger. Young Hui Guang happens to be passing by and comes to her aid.

Scene Ⅴ: Searching for Her Son
In the Shaolin Temple, monks are practicing Kungfu under the moonlight. Hui Guang's mother comes over to look for the owner of the jade. Abbot Miaoxing and Na Luo lead her to meet Hui Guang, who is practicing Kungfu in the Pagoda Forest. The reunion brings feelings of joy and sorrow to both mother and son.

Scene Ⅵ: Return Home
Hui Guang wins the fights with each monk in the temple but encounters Na Luo for the final test. Na Luo takes mercy on Hui Guang and acquiesces so that Hui Guang may return to his mother. Extremely grateful, mother and son bid a tearful farewell to the Shaolin Temple.
